We took a walk around the Filbert Steps in San Francisco.

There is a building downtown called Defenstration. That building has a bunch of stuff hanging out the windows, mostly furniture and appliances. This building also has stuff hanging out the windows. Instead of being Art, this is more functional.

The Filbert steps have some very nice gardens on the steps.

Yes, the steps are steep but the scenery is worth it.

San Francisco has a thing about fire hydrants. 1906 wasn't the only time most, or all, of the City burned down.

Many of the houses on stairs like this have no real street access. The stair is the legal street. If they buy anything, from groceries to a refrigerator, it has to go up or down the steps. There is no paved road. The front door opens onto the steps.
