We took a walk around the Filbert Steps in San Francisco.

There is a building downtown called Defenstration. That building has a bunch of stuff hanging out the windows, mostly furniture and appliances. This building also has stuff hanging out the windows. Instead of being Art, this is more functional. |

This is the Bay Bridge from the top of Union Street. |

San Francisco has many hidden alleys like this. |

|

The Filbert steps have some very nice gardens on the steps. |

Yes, the steps are steep but the scenery is worth it. |

|

San Francisco has a thing about fire hydrants. 1906 wasn't the only time most, or all, of the City burned down. |

|

Many of the houses on stairs like this have no real street access. The stair is the legal street. If they buy anything, from groceries to a refrigerator, it has to go up or down the steps. There is no paved road. The front door opens onto the steps. |

Some of the steps have more greenery than other. |
