Mud Volcano

I grew up near Yellowstone where the hot pots are surrounded by fences and big signs saying "danger." Here, the molten mud was just sitting in a field. Another group stopped by while we were there. It looked to be some grandparents with their 5-7 year old grandson. At one point, the grandfather held the young boy over one of the volcano things so the child could get a better view. The volcano chose that moment to do that it does and it burped. The child wasn't injured but after that, they decided that maybe it wasn't a good idea to hold the child over the top of an unpredictable fountain of molten mud. I think the fences and signs in Yellowstone are there to protect people like this.

These are the mud volcanos. We found these on the Southern California Road Trip. They were next to some farmer's fields at Shrimpf and some other road I can't remember.
