Red's Corner - 201 Ellis
Bar Napkin Origami
|
[Note: for some reason people seem to think this is a cool bar. I now remember winding up there a few years ago and passing it off as a yuppie hangout, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt here. There's supposedly a really hot waitress who may or may not be there tonight, so we'll just have to show up and see for ourselves. In any case, here's the official dive-bar activity...] BAR NAPKIN ORIGAMI Idle hands are the devil's workshop. We hate to see hands being idle (at least when they aren't busy holding a highball), so we'll keep them occupied by folding up napkins, scraps of paper, parking tickets, computer punch cards, and so on while we seek inspiration at the bottom of a gin bottle. You can also learn how to fold dollar bills into little geese to infuriate the bartender who then has to flatten them out for the register. Bring origami books if you've got them (or else visit the library on the way to the bar), and anything that you'd like to fold up into a piece of art. By the end of the evening you may even master the pinnacle of drunken origami - the Sphere of Crumpled Paper. Tuesday October 23 |
