How many times has this happened to you? You're out drinking with your buddies, and one of them keels over from the bar and stops breathing? Or perhaps, contrary to reports that moderate drinking can lower one's blood pressure, they suffer a heart attack and land at your feet? If this were to actually happen, would YOU be ready? Could you help save them? Do you even know what 'CPR' stands for?

If you'd like to participate in a real Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation class (at a bar, no less), and earn your certification, then be among the first 20 people to reply to this announcement. The cost is only $2 (to cover materials and tips for the bartender), and will be taught by a certified professional CPR instructor. There will be a lecture and plenty of hands-on practice using official training mannequins. Upon completing the course, participants will receive a two-year certification card.

The location is the Brewhouse Room at the San Francisco Brewing Company. There is a full menu of pub food available, along with $1 microbrews from 4 to 6 PM. The class gathers at 6:30 and runs for approximately 2-1/2 hours. Participants are welcome to stay afterwards and lower their blood pressure through careful applications of moderate drinking.

Late-comers may be admitted on a space-available basis, but if the class is full you can always hang out in the main bar room until the session is over (like that's a real hardship!) If you want to eat beforehand, please arrive before 6 PM, which will also entitle you to the $1 Happy-Hour drinks. What a deal!
