Drinking Straw Structures
|
Have you ever wanted to build a miniature Eiffel Tower in a bar, but never had the right materials or workspace? Or maybe mock up a compound geodesic dome to better visualize your Burning Man camp structure? How often have you tried to describe to a fellow drinking patron the topology of a 17 base-pair DNA molecule, but lacked a sufficient teaching aid? We aim to facilitate your three-dimensional brainstorms through the diligent application of drinking straws, glue guns, and a little ethanol to assist with the conceptual process. We'll be at a bar with ample side tables and electrical outlets, and all the Guinness you'll need to get your project started. Even if your entire evening's efforts only yields a crappy stick figure with one leg missing, you'll gain a sense of accomplishment that will surpass anything found at the local adult education crafts seminar. Because in the end you can still use your little straw structure to suck the last of your drink out of the glass. Items to bring:
