Train of Thought
|
If you've ever taken a creative writing class you've probably had to endure some type of experimental composition exercise that involves building upon someone else's work. This can take the form of 'relaywriting' where one person composes a paragraph, then the next person uses that as the setup for their contribution, and so on. The results can be humorous and often dada-esque, and the task requires one to think on their toes. We'll do this on a more granular level by writing brief sentences on Post-It notes which then get passed to the next participant for further story construction. Each subsequent addition gets attached to the growing stack until a best-selling novel emerges. We can work out joint royalty agreements later, but first we need to be careful lest the influences of alcohol derail our literary efforts. We'll be using 3" x 3" Post-It notes, so scour your workplace for extra pads if you're feeling particularly prolific, and bring a writing implement and tip money.
