Flag Creation

Perhaps you followed the flap in Iraq where the GI placed a US flag over the face of the Saddam Hussein statue before it got pulled down. Some people claimed it was an arrogant gesture of a conquering nation, while others thought the colors simply clashed with the surrounding arabesque decor. We feel that the a judiciously-placed martini flag would have delivered a more stylish and positive message to the Iraqi people, namely, "Brothers, lay down your arms and join us for cocktails!"

Since there are only four more shopping days until Flag Day, you should probably give some thought to how YOU will be celebrating this important holiday. But as preparation, join us while we generate new flag designs, be they for an emerging sovereign nation, a local order of circus performers, or a 12-Galaxy Rocket Society. We'll be working in the economical paper medium, but better designs can be committed to rip-proof Tyvek (TM, R, UL, K, ETC.) or even fabric if you're truly ambitions. The Dive-bar Color Guard will ensure that outstanding designs are honored by appropriate toasts and respectful gestures.

Bring crayons, colored paper, clip-art, glue, scissors, and other implements of destruction.

Look for us in the upstairs balcony overlooking the bar.
