Make Your Own Medic Alert Bracelet

Make Your Own Medic-Alert Bracelet

Just to remind you, the Palace Steak House is about to make us all
ill...

Okay, they're really those disposable hospital bracelets, and you get to add your (or your friend's) ailment via the complex technology embodied in a Sharpie(R) permanent marker.

Who can come up with the most obscure or horrifying disease? Soren will be in Canada, so the field
is wide open.

These bracelets make great gifts for those hard-to-please friends - who wouldn't be honored to be given a bracelet declaring that they have HAIRY CELL LEUKEMIA or SYRINGOBULBIA orLYMPHANGIOLEIOMYOMATOSIS?

You may wish to claim a disease for yourself. May we suggest ADIE SYNDROME (or, “No, officer, I’m not on drugs – I have this rare disorder)? In most patients the pupil of the eye is dilated, and absent or poor reflexes are also associated with this disorder.

Think you just have a lengthy hangover? You could have ISOVALERIC ACIDEMIA. In its acute form, vomiting, refusal to eat, and listlessness usually occur. With treatment and low protein diet, the disorder becomes chronically intermittent, and a nearly normal life is possible. So forget Atkins,
and load up on starchy bar snacks!

Are you a born Cacophonist? You may have SCHINZEL TYPE ACROCALLOSAL SYNDROME: besides craniofacialabnormalities, most affected individuals also have distinctive digital malformations, such as the presence of extra fingers.

Bring any medical encyclopedias you have sitting around, or a Mary Baker Eddy tome so you can tell the rest of us that it's all in our heads. We'll provide bracelets and Sharpie(R) permanent
markers.

And yes, Palace is technically a restaurant, but it's a dive, and it sells beer and wine. Vegetarian options include baked potatoes and salads (iceberg, of course!), served on cafeteria trays so you can more easily take them to your shiny red vinyl banquette.
