| I went to Books by the Bay, a fair for independent booksellers. The book festival was interesting...warm, sunny day & I got to hear Adrienne Rich in person. I"ve read her poetry for years and now I've finally seen her read her work in person!
I believe in independent booksellers for a number of reasons. I don't spend money at the Big Chains. I found it especially ironic that the festival was happening at Yerba Buena Gardens, in the shadow os the Sony Metron, a monument to cultural homogony. |
