Pacific Heights Stairwalk

"Stairwalk Walks in San Francisco" by Adah Bakalinsky is a wonderful guide book. Yes, I've lived in the City for several years & I kinda knew there were stairs around but I hadn't realized how many beautiful stairwalks there are in the City. This book is a great guide.

Today's pictures are from Walk #7 around Pacific Heights.

First is a very steep walkway. There are stairs over on the right side (out of the picture frame). Still, this isn't a hill I'd like to skateboard down.

Next were these hanging walkways. One seems to be a fire escape, added on after the building was constructed. The second is a walkway between two buildings. Neither looks like they are all that well attached to the main structures.
I don't know what this building is (next door to the Italian consulate) but I found the brickwork & heavy wooden door fascinating.
These buildings were beautiful with the sunset light striking them.

Next is a park, all in terraces 'cause it's too steep to be anything but.

This apartment building stood alone. It really doesn't fit.

Next shot is a city view, with Bernal Hill (my home) vaguely visible in the middle back.

What's with this tree over hanging the sidewalk? Granted, it's a very intesting tree bit also blocks a good portion of the sidewalk.

The next bit is a very twisty street, not something I'd want to drive on a regular basis.
