April 2002
I took a walk along the Guadalupe River in downtown San Jose. I found a park & a lot of what counts for 'forest' in suburbia.
First, this park is open for adoption...
Of course, the trees have all been chopped off
In place of established, older trees, there is a concrete park with man-made trees of more concrete
And metal bugs instead of the real kind
Looks inviting, doesn't it?
Nearby is another forest...of flag poles.
and a stone bear...
and a garden path along a stream
and another one of perfectly aligned palm trees
