March 1

We put together a group stairwalk/scavenger hunt around Upper Market.

March 1

This is more from the stairwalk/scavenger hunt

March 2

I pulled over to take a picture because the clouds were so very beautiful. None of my cloud pictures came out very well. Instead, I got some interesting tree pictures.

This was taken at Vista Point off 280, just north of Edgewood Road.

March 2

I was on my way home from my small meditation group gathering.

March 5

I mde another baby hat for a new baby that arrived early. I thought I'd had a couple weeks to finish this but no, the baby arrived two weeks early.

This night, I skipped my usual knitting group to go to a three week class on Dying with the Dharma, given by my old meditation teacher in Redwood City.

March 7

View of San Antonio station area from CalTrain on my evening commute.

March 8

Utah...this is the kind of statue that people in Midway, Utah, put in their front yard. I think it's supposed to be a pioneer farmer, holding an apple or something. I took a movie of Downtown Midway.

March 9

This is a stitched image taken from the deck of my parent's house

March 12

Busy week...I spent the weekend in Utah (6am Sat flight, returning midnight on Sunday) Monday night there were adventures getting my car jump started. Tuesday I went to my investment club in San Jose. Tonight, I went to my "Dying with the Dharma' class in Redwood City with my old meditation teacher. Before the class, I picked up a friend & we went to dinner. We found this strange looking rabbit in a store window.

On my way home, I picked up The Boy. He was out drinking at some biker bar. When he got in the car, he told me he had two monkey suits, one wedding dress and a bottle of potato vodka. Now what was he doing with potato vodka? The monkey suits & wedding dress I could understand. But where did this potato vodka come from?

March 13

While I was gone last weekend, The Boy was busy. He dug up three tree stumps, dug a trench, installed a water line for a garden hose faucet, and installed an electronic thermostat for the furnace. This morning, I went outside to take a picture. He warned me there was a surprise for me out there. Here it is. The frame of a redwood deck.

oh, and the pipe in the wall? That's were he drilled a hole in the side of the house to install a water connection for the garden irrigation system.

A Redwood Deck. He's building a Redwood Deck.

March 13

This is another odd thing in my garden. The garden has a lemon tree. As expected, there are lemons on the lemon tree. Last summer, I had a tomato plant growing under the lemon tree. I guess part of the tomato plant climbed into the lemon tree. When I cleaned out the tomato plants, I must have missed this part. Here it is March & here's a couple tomatoes stuck in the lemon tree.

March 15

This is part of a bunny suit (ears which had been broken & now repaired with duct tape). This is for the Urban Iditarod. Urban Iditarod happened same day as Brides of March. I missed both events. I was too exhausted from everything else over the past couple weeks. Instead, went to a pre-Iditarod brunch ran errands (grocery store & buying tomatoes starts for my garden) & then home for a nap.

March 16

Today, I planted those tomato starts. With this nifty new fence, the garden is really looking good.

March 18

This is most of an octopus, the latest addition to my menagerie of strangly shaped creatures. It isn't completely done yet although it's close. This is the main body. I need to do some finishing work, stuff it & then throw it in the washing machine a few times to felt.

March 19

The War finally started.

I am NOT watching this on TV .

I spent this evening at a class on death & dying.

March 20

I went to hospice & learned about surprises.

On my way home, I ended up distracted at a friend's birthday party.

March 21

This it the deck.

It's still getting some trim and finishing work. I was VERY surprised to walk outside my back door and discover it.

March 21
This isconcrete being cut, part of the prep work for two trees in the sidewalk, courtesy of the Friends of the Urban Forest. The image on the right is a movie.

The Boy heard the sound, said "They're cutting the concrete!' and rushed outside to watch. I don't know what is more amusing, the fact that he accurately recognized the sound or that he was in such a rush to see the large power tool do its thing.

March 21

Kitty is stalking stuff in the garden. She's mostly after grass which she eats so she can later come inside the house and puke.

March 22

We did a walk around Bernal Hill in preparation for a stairwalk/scavenger hunt in May.

This tree really caught my eye. Anyone know what kind it is?

March 22
I found another snake. On the right, see a movie of the snake. This is a rinneck snake, not the garter snake that I thought might be one of those endangered San Francisco garter snakes. This one is a ring neck.
March 22

Clouds in the backyard.

March 22

This is the fence. It's a beautiful fence.

March 23

This is the view from atop one of the best views of downtown. This is a non-windy hillside in Bernal Heights.

March 23

We took another walk in preparation for the May stairwalk/scavenger hunt. This is another path in Bernal Heights.

March 25

I took the train to work.

March 26

I took the train home.

March 28

I trained again today.

March 28

After I took this picture, I wondered if Someone was going to come get me for taking a picture of 'infrastructure.' I believe we are slowly turning into a police state. My art project could be viewed as a potential terrorist threat. Later, on the train itself, I was knitting. Yep, I was using dangerous weapons, knitting needles.

February 18

ok, old picture from last month. I included it here 'cause it took that long to get the image downloaded off the old camera.

The interesting part is how much wood is stored in my car. You wouldn' think a little Honda del Sol would be a preactical car to take to Home Depot, Well, it works. That little car can haul a LOT of wood. And conduit. And other construction materials.

February 19

Again, another delayed picture.

This is the arrival of the bins. San Francisco rolled out a new recyling program. Everyone gets three bins. Upon Bin Delivery Day, they spread the bins out along the street.

March 29

Tree planting day with the Friends of the Urban Forest.

There are now two trees outside the house: Egbert & Pigtruck.

I baked this weekend. For the treee-planting potluck, I made a big pot of mushroom & onion marinara sauce (plus spaghetti) & two loaves of bread. And a lemon pie with Meyers lemons from the tree in my garden.

March 30

Goth-peep and Easter-peep ready to go down the Esmarelda Slide. On Wax paper, of course. That makes the sliding go faster.

After fun-with-slides, several people c ame back to my house for dinner. I had blueberry bread I'd made that morning & the leftovers from Sat (pasta, bread, lemon pie).

We also did a scouting mission for another stairwalk/scavenger hunt thing in May.

In the vening, we went to the final Tentacle Session.
