Another Friday night, another hot date at the dump.

We went to the NorCal Waste Artist-in-Residence program.

On the way home, we stopped by Johnson's BBQ for some of their Thermal Nuclear Sauce. While I like the atmosphere (very old, run down, very much a family place) the food wasn't all that good.

I baked bread again. This is rosemary, garlic, oregano dill bread, just before I punsh it down.

My garden is full of tomatoes.

We went looking for the Soapbox Derby and found this view of Sutro Tower instead.

We went on a walk near the Ferry Buiding downtown. This is part of the PG&E building from when they used to built art into the architecture.

I've been doing more of these hand-held shots with long exposures, especially at night. While the blurry effect can be interesting, I think I should think more about how to steady the camera, perhaps with a tripod or against a wall.

This was the Mary Carey Victory Party. As you may be able to tell, this was not a very happy party. In fact, we spent a good portion of the evening watching a robot show on the History channel instead of watching the election returns.

We went to St. Mary's Pub to drink to Mary Carey. Now that she's lost the governer's race, she will keep her day job as porn star.

On the way to the bar, I found this yard. The front yard is paved with concrete. and painted green to appear to be something like a lawn. The 'lawn' is inhabited by concrete creatures like duck, bunnies, frogs and a snail.

I am not sure what statement the owner was trying to make with this. It scares me in a "it's so bad it's good" sort of way.

Last night, I went to hospice.

Tonight, we watched Army of Darkness. Now I understand a lot more about Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

We took another City Guides tour, this time around Sutro Forest & Sutro Tower.

I'm making oven-drived tomatoes from the tomatoes in my garden.

Dive Bar was German Trivia night.

In the morning, I drove past Laguna Honda Hospital just as my cell phone rang. The call was from someone at the Laguna Honda hospice teling me that someone I'd spent some time with had died. It seemed appropriate to me that the phone would ring just as I was driving past Laguna Honda.

This hallway is the way to get to the bathroom at a cheesy Thai restaurant in Redwood City. This hallway seemed like it would fit in a horror movie where the main character is stuck in a maze.

We went scouting train stations for a CalTrain bar crawl in January

I drove to work today instead of taking the train 'cause I needed my car to get to hospice in the evening.

Later in the day, I went to a demonstration at Oracle.

I'm back to doing the train to work again. I rode the train home with some tourists from Wisconsin. They were very excited when they could see the Cow Palace from the train.

Later in the evening, we went pumpkin shopping.

Between train & pumpkin shopping, we went for sushi. We picked a sushi place out of a strip mall, a selection process that almost always fails. This time, the menu had to describe sushi "raw fish ande seafood wrapped in seaweed & vinegar rice" I kinda wonder about a sushi place that has to describe what it's selling. And this is in the Bay Area! Well, the sushi was actually quite good & cheap.

We went on a City Guides tour of the Excelsior.

We went to watch the soapbox derby races at Bernal Hill.

A friend of mine has a hybrid car. This is one of the displays.

We did pumpkin carving.

For Halloween, I took my giant fish costume (ok, salmon suit) to work and told everyone it was a Seal.

While everyone else in San Francisco went to the Castro, we ordered pizza & watched Season 1 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on DVD.
