This actually taken the night of September 12. Note the can of Vienna Sausages. This was a part of Arnold Schwarzenegger movie night. With the California Governer's race in such a comedic state, we decided to host Arold Schwarzenegger movie night. Instead of the usual Terminator, Total Recall or Twins movies, we ran Hercules in New York (the movie so bad they wouldn't let Arnie speak. All his lines are dubbed), Pumping Iron and Running Man with Richard Dawson as gameshow host, Dweezil Zappa and Jesse Ventura. |

I went to a reunion of old Apple employees. |

Lazy day...well, kind of. I went to a BBQ in the evening. We spent most of the day hanging around the house. I did that cooking thing that I do sometimes: Two loaves of bread, lemon pie, spinach dip, gazpacho and a big Sunday vegie omelette breakfast. This movie is the gazpacho in process. September 15 Monday & back at work again. There was a Giants game so CalTrain was crowded again. |

| September 16
This is a complicated cable sweater in process. I baked two more loaves of bread tonight. |

I stopped for gas next to this building that looks like it used to be some sort of a restaurant. One of my teams at work made a big deadline so brought donuts to work. This seemed to be a Big Deal. This should not have been a Big Deal. In the evening, I went to hospice. |

I had this ball of yarn leftover from a hat project. I decided to use this and my #19 giant knitting needles to try a square out of the Harmony Aran Knitting book. I used a size 13 dpn as a cable needle. I kinda knew this but now I really know it: cables look best with a yarn that is evenly spun. This yarn, while beautiful with varying thicknesses, doesn't work too well with the cable pattern. I made another loaf of bread today. And I baked a lemon pie. And tried some baked chicken with a ginger/onion/apple glaze. We watched a strange movie tonight, Rapture all about Christian ... welll, an experience of being saved. |

I bought this at the Farmer's Market this morning. I don't know what it is. I bought it because I believe in trying new things and exploring. It might be kinda strange.Or I might discover a new favorite food. I won't know until I try it. In cooking today...I juiced enough lemons to make a quart of lemon juice, baked a loaf of banana bread and another batch of gazpacho. The weather here is HOT. Cold gazpacho with a slice of fresh homeade bread...now THAT is a nice meal on a hot day. |

Thisis one of the joys of living in San Francisco...someone parking directly in front of a driveway. My neighbors were looking to go to the beach for the day. Instead, they stayed home & waited for a tow truck to arrive to remove this car. The owner wandered back and somehow seemed to not have realized that he had parked directly in front of a driveway or that this might have been a problem. I wish he had been another 20 minutes late. If he couldn't see a driveway (and associated garage) I wonder if he can see well enough to drive safely. |

Another HOT day. San Francisco isn't supposed to be miserably hot. I hosted my knitting group in the afternoon. We sat in the shade in the garden & drank lemonade. baked in the morning: two loaves of bread & potato rolls with cinnamon rolls using extra potato roll dough My version of lemonade: fill the blender with ice, add lemon juice (fresh squeezed from the Meyers Lemon tree) to about 1/3 full. Add some sugar. Dilute the rest with water. Blend. This makes some strong lemonade. |

In the evening, we enjoyed a cup of tea in the garden. |

Evening walk around Bernal Heights again, Wild Side West for sandwiches, our special spot in the garden & an interesting walk home This picture came from the garden at Wild Side West. |

I really needed a tripod for this picture. This is a 15 second exposure of a shadow against a building. We took a walk around the neighborhood. I would like to go back and try this one again. w |

| September 23
Roses in my garden. I took the train again to work. The second most-northern car is turning out to be kinda social & fun on the way home. |
|
| September 24
We tried to go to New Pisa but we missed it. They are now closed, We took a alk around SOMA & North Beach, with dinner at a strange tapas place and then a house Capuccino at Tosca's. |
