We went wandering around Mt. Davidson, scouting locations for a future event. We found this stone staircase which was supposed to lead to a stone water fountain. The stone staircase led to a path... which lead to the remains of a stone drinking fountain. This is a hunk of rock with a pipe poking out of the top. More 'stone water fountain'
The path up looked interesting... We approached Mt. Davidson from a different direction. This is a path we never would have found on our own. It's a hidden public right of way. I still find it amaing (and wonderful) that this kind of nature exists within the confines of a densely populated urban area.
This is the return path...little walkway between private homes... This is a long view of a hillside that slid many years ago. The hillside (what's left of it) has undergone some serious engineering construction to prevent additional collapse. The end of the path...on the way home
