I was driving to work this AM & in front of me, I saw a small black pickup with stylish custom paint job, nice looking truck. Kind of a 'young baby dyke' kinda truck. There was a bumper sticker in the window with one of those 'how am I driving? call 800-xxx-xxxx notes. And to the back, there was a sign scotch-taped to the back:
Need drivers!
Call ReddiBrake
xxx-xxxxx
Now I was a bit confused. This looked like someone's personal car, not a corporate ReddiBrake car. And why would a brake-company need drivers? And then it came to me. This must be part of their quality control operation. Here's the scenario: ReddiBrake fixes someone's brakes. And then they have to test it, to make sure it works. So they get one of these 'drivers', send them out to the California freeway system in the car with the new brake job. And wait. If the car comes back with car & driver intact, then the brake job passed quality control & ReddiBrake calls the customer to let them know the brakes have been fixed. If the car and/or driver don't come back, then they know there's a problem & ReddiBrake needs to do some more work on the brakes. And probably the car & driver as well. The 'How am I driving' bumper sticker is there to assist ReddiBrake in tracking down their drivers who couldn't make it back to the shop because the brakes didn't work.
And if you believe this....
