Sweater Ornaments

These are mini-sweaters for holiday ornaments. I started with the blue sweater. I had been given some yarn from the stash of a woman who had died. In my thank-you note, I used some of the yarn to make a mini-sweater. The hanger is twisted wire. The blue sweater is Sirdar Denim.

Once I'd made one sweater, I kept going. While Christmas is my least favorite holiday of the year, I participated in a small way by making mini-holiday ornaments in colors appropriate for family members. The yarn is little bits from my stash. Most of it is Dale Baby Ull although some of the yarns are a mystery. I don't have ball bands for all of them.

The general pattern is a top down raglan. This means no seams and very little finishing. The sweaters were done on #2 dpn. I can't remember exactly how many stitches I used for each part. It was something like co 12, mark 3 for each sleeve, 4 for the back, 5 for the front. Then knit until done, using a k1p1 rib at the cuff & bottom.
