Godzilla

I was given a toy pattern book for Christmas so I had to make something from it.

The results vaguely resemble the picture in the book. The pattern suffered from a flaw common to most knitted toy patterns: knit a bunch of pieces and sew them together. This ends up being a sewing project, not a knitting project.

I used J&S Shetland wool ('cause that's what I had with me) on #6 needles. The resulting toy was felted although it could stand a few more trips through the washing machine.

Most knitted toy patterns suffer from this very flaw. They give instructions to knit a bunch of pieces which then need to be sewn together. This makes the project more about sewing and less about knitting.

All in all, I think Godzilla turned out OK, although this is NOT a pattern that I would have written.
